Today I uploaded a new image of a flower. This one is a single Spider Lily (Hymenocallis Liriosme) taken in the Rose Garden Park in Tyler, Texas. The contrast between the dark green background and the almost pure white flower makes for a classic image. See it at www.m-k-miller.artistwebsites.com.
Not unlike the nude, beautiful paintings and photographs of flowers are a common subject to almost all artists of all generations. Attempting to produce an image that captures the feeling of seeing or holding something like a flower that God made is no small thing. Every year during the season I go out and try again. I must say that I never quite make myself happy with the outcome.
Having said that, I do believe that many of the flower images listed on my site and on Fine Art America make great wall art. In the brighter colors they liven up a room or office. While in the darker or softer images they seem to make for a restful or relaxing atmosphere in a given room.
I hope that you will have a look at these photographs as close to full size as possible. Some of them look very much alike until you look at them in a print size instead of the thumb size. Some have been made into oil paintings by electronic means. Although they may not be true purists want to see in a museum, they make great inexpensive prints for home and offices.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy the images.
